Long time no post!

It's been a busy 6 weeks. Rita came and went and I spent 15 hours trying to evacuate. Made it 65 miles up the road and decided to return with my doggies to brave it out. Cell phone usage was spotty and I had family somewhat concerned. All for naught it turns out as I didn't even get any rain. Sheesh. What a trauma.

On a better note, my studio, www.winterstreetstudios.org, had their show and I had my pieces in the gallery. I sold the turquoise necklace! Wooohooo! And I had a packed studio for 3 hours that evening. I sold several pieces and I'm just delighted.

I will be in the silent auction for the Art League Benefit with the Art Guys, which has been rescheduled due to Rita for, I think, Oct 29. www.artleaguehouston.org

I've begun a jewelry class at the Art League, doing silversmithing work. Setting cabochons and wire work. It's quite exciting and my mind is in overdrive!

And finally, I'm lampworking! I've made some pumpkins that are quite cute. Mostly, I want to be able to make the spacer beads and any specific beads that I want in the colors I want for my own designs. At this time, I don't think I'll be doing the fabulous work that ones see with lampworked glass beads.

I'll post pictures shortly. My website is under construction currently...www.lilyrosedesigns.com.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts during Rita. It was a trying time.
